Club accomplishments on a breezy day

Well done to all archers who turned out on Sunday 16th July. A very breezy day made the archery a real challenge. Good experience trying to account for the crosswind, especially on the longer rounds. We had Metric, Short Metric and Long Metric rounds shot with one of our compound men breaking a 14 year old club record in the Short Metric round. We also saw a new Under 12 Women’s Short Metric record achieved in the windy conditions.

At the end of 2022 we totalled up our submitted score sheets. You did amazingly well with just under 500 score sheets submitted last year. You will remember that this included lots of awards for our archers. We decided that it would be great if we could get over 500 score sheets submitted in 2023. Well, you have done it already. On Sunday, the 500th score sheet was submitted by one of our beginners. 335 outdoor rounds and 165 indoor rounds have been submitted since 1st January 2023.

What a fantastic group of archers you are. Well done, one and all. We are heading for another record year of archery.
