Club Short Metric & Metric Round – 16th July
The club target day on Sunday 16th July will feature the Short Metric and Metric rounds. Usual Sunday times with set up at 12:30 PM. This event will be run as a club competition and thus archers have an opportunity to shoot for one of the new Bowman scores in the full Metric rounds. You can check the Archery GB outdoor classification tables to see what score is needed.
A Short Metric round consists of 3 dozen arrows at one distance and 3 dozen arrows at the next distance, and uses 10 zone scoring on an 80cm target face. Archers can choose from the full range of Short Metric rounds. These are Short Metric I (50 & 30m), Short Metric II (40 & 30m), Short Metric III (30 & 20m) and the Short Metric IV (20 & 10m). For those archers that wish to complete a Metric round over four different distances (3 dozen arrows at each distance) the first two distances can be shot starting at 10:30 AM, with set up at 10:00 AM. The Metric round combines a Long Metric and Short Metric into a single round.
Scoring will be completed on paper, checked and signed by another archer on the line, and submitted to the records officer at the end of the round. You can use phone apps to score but only after entering your score on paper. If you do not wish to take part in the competition, you can still come along to shoot as you would any other day.
If you would like to shoot a Metric round over the morning and afternoon, with a break for lunch, please email the records officer to let us know.
We look forward to seeing you there.
