The Club Target Day on Sunday 6th July will include a Western rounds competition. This event will be run under competition rules. A Western round consists of 4 dozen arrows at one distance (in yards) and 4 dozen arrows at the next distance down. Archers can choose from the full range of Western rounds. These are New Western (100 & 80 yds), Long Western (80 & 60 yards), Western (60 & 50 yds), Western 50 (50 & 40 yds), Western 40 (40 & 30 yds) and the Western 30 (30 & 20 yds). Western rounds are Imperial rounds and scoring is 5 Zone (9,7,5,3,1). Scoring will be completed on paper and submitted to the Records Officer at the end of the round. Scoring to be checked and signed by another archer on the line. Archers can use apps to score but only after entering their score on paper. We hope to have a judge on the day to help make it more like a standard competition. Archers can still attend the Club Target Day to either shoot a different round or practice their technique. Look forward to seeing you there.

The competitive element will be based on a handicap competition that will enable archers to compete against each other taking into account gender, ability, bow style and age group. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded.

This is an opportunity to shoot a slightly longer round than most people shoot with 8 dozen arrows rather than 6 dozen. Our next Club Target Round Day will use a Metric round. Hope to see you at the Western event.
