Club Western Round Achievements
Many thanks to all the archers who took part in our Club Western Round Day and also to those who helped out our archers. Although the rain made a short appearance we did manage to complete the round and get the gear away dry. We had 15 complete Western rounds using recurve, compound, barebow and longbow. Several of our beginners shot their first full outdoor round and gained valuable experience of a competition style event. Results from the day include four Archer 3rd Class scores, two Archer 2nd Class scores, four Bowman 3rd Class scores, and a new club record for the women’s barebow Western 30.
In addition:
- One of our junior men barebow archers has achieved his first 252 badge, this one at 20 yards, within just a few weeks of beginning archery. Well done. I am sure we will see you move up the badges.
- Our youngest junior women recurve archer has followed up her Red Feather Award by achieving success in the Gold Feather Award. Consisting of target accuracy, stance, technique, and safety questions our archer once again proved that hard work and determination pay off.
- One of our senior men recurve archers gained his Bowman 3rd Class badge after shooting three qualifying scores. This is a difficult badge to achieve and demonstrates the great progress made by this archer.
The next Club Round Day will be the Short Metric rounds on Sunday 16th July. Hope to see you there.
