Club National Round – Sunday 30th June
The club target day on Sunday 30th June will feature the National rounds. This event will be run as a club competition and archers can compete for a gold medal based on handicap. This allows us to compare across bowstyles, age groups and gender. Your handicap result will depend on how you compare to your current outdoor handicap.
A National round consists of 4 dozen arrows at one distance and 2 dozen arrows at a shorter distance, and uses 5 zone scoring on a 122cm target face. Archers can choose from the full range of National rounds. These are New National (100 & 80 yd), Long National (80 & 60 yd), National (60 & 50 yd), National 50 (50 & 40 yd), National 40 (40 & 30 yd) and the National 30 (30 & 20 yd). Scoring will be completed on paper and submitted to the records officer at the end of the round. Scoring must be checked and signed by another archer on the line, ideally your partner on the same boss. You can use phone apps to score but only after entering your score on paper. We hope to have a judge on the day to help make it more like a standard competition. If you do not wish to take part in the competition, you can still attend to shoot a different round or practice as usual.
We look forward to seeing you there.
